Thankful on a Thursday.

Today, I am thankful for friends. Specifically for my friend, Annie. Annie and I met when we were 9 years old. We met on the 1st day of school, in the 4th grade. Our parents moved into town with our families to work. Annie's family moved from Nashville, AR. We moved from Enid, OK. We were the "new girls" at our school, which wasn't easy in a small town. She had the prettiest curly hair that I had ever seen. Perhaps, because all the other girls had their "friends" or maybe because we had several things in common...but whatever the reason...we became instant friends. I am so thankful that we did.

I am thankful because she would do anything for me or my family. She loves my children. Benjamin refers to her as "Annie Mama". After high school, we didn't always live in the same place and didn't always call as much as we should have. I am just thankful that we are in the same place, right now. We are able to see one another, often. I can only hope to be a kind of friend she has taught me to be.

I think you left out a lot of notable moments in high school that may need to be shared:)
