Today, It seems Benjamin turned into a "little boy"--not a baby and not a toddler. He is just such a little boy. We went swimming in Branson, Mo, with a group of adults and kids from our church. The swim area had a great pool for kids, with lots of fun stuff to do. The sad reality is Benjamin didn't really need me, very much. He didn't cry or fuss because the water was cold. He didn't need me to hold his hand, all afternoon. I did stay close to him but he didn't seem to need me as much as he did last summer. It's really exciting to see him grow and change. It is just kinda sad when he doesn't need "mama" as much.
To end this day...after we read a book and said our prayer, and I tucked him into bed...he looked at me and said "Goodnight, Marci". However, that is where I draw the line...he might not need me, at the swimming pool, but I will always be his "mama" or at least "mom".
