No, Georgia-Kate is not walking, yet. And YES...It is okay! I am a little tired of the constant advice and questions: "She isn't walking...shouldn't she be?" or "Have you tired walking shoes?" {I'm not even sure I know what "walking" shoes are.} Or my favorite 2 comment/question: "Why isn't she walking?" and "Maybe her mama carries her around too much." {No, I am not kidding! Don't all mothers carry around their 13 month olds while parenting a 3 1/2 year old?! I certainly don't.} I know...I know...people are trying to "help". However, sometimes the best help is not to give advice unless asked for it. I don't know why she is not walking~
But what I do know is:
Georgia-Kate will walk when she is ready.
She pulls up and cruises around the furniture.
She doesn't have to be like every other baby.
And...Georgia-Kate is perfect, in every way.
She is exactly like God created her to be.

Thank you for listening, today. {I just needed to get that off my chest.}

She's so beautiful! I agree; she'll walk when she's ready. Every child is different and there's nothing wrong with that! Some talk really young and other's (like mine) wait until there like THREE to start communicating! Everything in God's timing.
Hi Marci!
You are exactly right! My youngest daughter didn't walk until 17 months and everyone was freaking out about it. I felt that she would walk when she was ready and she did!
Your daughter is adorable! She will walk when she is ready.
XOXO

Marci -- Both Carson and Kamree walked at 14 months and not a day before. Therefore, she is right on our walking schedule. She will be walking before you know it! I think I got similar questions when my kids weren't walking! I just ignored them but people can be soooo annoying!
It is rather annoying to get advice that we dont ask for. Sorry you are having to deal with that. Georgia Kate will walk when she is ready!! You are definitely right about that. I hope that you and your family have a pleasant Easter :)
Walking is so over rated ~ once you do, it's all up to you to get what you want and need. :)
She is adorable and as long as she is healthy, happy and the doctors aren't concerned ~ there are no worries. Just enjoy her!

Hi Marci~
I sure understand what you mean about unsolicited advice. My 3 year old son is being sassy and not listening lately. One day I told him to do something, more than once, and my friend said to me. " maybe he just knows there will be no consequence if he does not listen." WHAT~! He is three years old. That is the problem. All four of my children hit their terrible twos at three years old. Then they were (somewhat) normal again shortly thereafter.
Very uncharacteristicly, I bit my tongue and didn't say to her what I was thinking and we are still friends.
Now some unsolicited advice from me...
Do what feels right for you and your family and screw what everyone else thinks or says!! Personally I feel the know-it-alls need to do a little self evaluating and butt out of others business! (OOH, that was angry, peri-menopausal, me)
Have a super day. (that was happy, over it now, me)!!

HELLO SISTA! Love the pictures. Georgia-Kate is so beutiful I could just squeeze her! Guess I'm offically an internet nerd. Have fun hunting eggs Saturday.
just stumbled upon your blog, beautiful by the way. you have a wonderful little girl. and God has his own since of timing... have a blessed day:) looking forward to more of your blog. lovely.
It is beyond OK. It's fabulous. She's so healthy and happy. If she wants to crawl and be a baby just a little while longer, then that's fine. What's the rush to grow up? AND, there is a scientific study linking brain activity with crawling. Our adoption workers encouraged us to let Schäfer crawl as long as he is willing.
Hey - Peydin is not walking yet either! They'll get there.

Preach it Sista! You are SO right. That beautiful baby girl will walk when she is good and ready! My three each didn't walk until 16 months and one was 17 months. I didn't do anything differently with them than my family & friends who had little ones who walked at 10 months or 12 months. I also got a million questions as to "why?" Truth is babies do things when THEY are ready, they are on no one else's time schedule!
Georgia Kate is perfect, beautiful and blessed with a very wise mommy!
She is just adorable! Dontcha worry 'bout what others say. All kids develop by their own time clocks. She is not early nor is she late...she is right on Georgia-Kate time!
She is lookin' ADORABLE with that bow! I love bows!!!
