On Benjamin's birthday, we woke early. After breakfast, we gave him one present to open. I wrapped up a picture of his gift. When he opened it...he was so confused and upset. However, it didn't take long for his mood to change when he found a new sandbox on the deck. He was so excited. It is fun to play. The lid tilts and creates rivers and a road with bridges and tunnels.

{Yes, I made him wear a birthday hat at 7:30am.}
After a fun early morning at home, we drove up to Branson, Mo. Benjamin really wanted to ride a train on his birthday. The ride lasted for a hour and a half. The conductor was really nice to Benjamin. They introduced him and announced his birthday. We enjoyed a snack and rode on all 5 of the cars. Georgia-Kate entertained the other riders. She kept saying "Hi, Hi" to everyone. After the ride, we returned home for naps and enjoyed a small celebration with family.

{Isn't this photo...hilarious?! Benjamin with his hand on "the conductor's" knee!} I will post a few party photos...later.

What a fun birthday! I love the train ride idea! For some reason or another, I want to take the train to Colorado from our house! I think it would be a blast and faster than driving with the kids!
that is absolutely adorable that you took him on a train! I also love how you wrapped up a picture and then took him outside :)
What a fun birthday! I'm so glad he got to go on a train ride. Dream come true!
What a fun day for everyone. That was a great birthday idea!!
What a fun birthday! Love the pics! Yes, that is funny his hand on the conductors knee! Cute!
THAT picture is hilarious! And how about him squatting with the conductor! haha That sandbox looks super cool - we might need to look into that ourselves!
How cute! Your comment about the picture of the present cracked me up. I can only imagine how he was until he figured it out. It also reminds me of a time when I ordered a present for my father. It didn't arrive on his birthday so I gave him the picture and said it would be coming soon. The next holiday I got a card from my dad. It was a picture of money. He said, "I don't have it yet, but I'll get it to you when I do." ;o) Had to share. Made me think of that funny moment.
Adorable! I'm loving that last picture. So sweet! I bet he had the most awesome day!
