clothes, shoes, bags...

I really like bags. Okay. I love bags. There is just something about a new bag. Clean. Full of Pockets. Fun. It simply makes the outfit.

Does anyone know what I am talking about?!
However, today...as I spent some time in God's word. I was a little convicted...or a lot convicted.
Put to death whatever in you is wordly: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry. Colossians 3:5
Wow. Greed equals idolatry. That's hard to digest. When I seek a new pair of jeans, shoes or a new BAG...and I spend more time shopping for that item then I spend in God's word and in prayer. I commit idolatry.
Can anybody relate?!
May I spend more time with God...and less time seeking after the things of this world.

I can completely relate. I've thought about that a lot lately. It's tough to think about, but it really makes your walk with God stronger.

Unfortunately, I am in the same boat. I am a bag lady too!

Good thoughts today. I know, it is easy to get caught up in cute things!

It really is so easy to get caught up in this world. I love those things too and have those gentle reminders to not hold on to them too tight.

This was awesome! We discussed this in Sunday School the other day. My lesson was on the 10 Commandments. And, I openly confessed my idolatry as well. Funny, some of the guys in there just looked and had no comment...hope they "got it!" Mine would be running--basically all of the training I did to prepare for those ultra marathons. Hoppong out of bed to run instead of being with God first. Not giving Him my best, but my leftovers! I have really been convicted over the past couple of years. I do "get it!"

And, the pockebook was darlin'!!!

Hugs!

With the holiday shopping season upon us...I totally relate. I've been drooling over expensive handbags too, but discovered that I can just "shop" my mom's closet! She's got good taste fortunately for me! Thank you God!

The wold is always demanding on us. And seems that we are never enough. Not enough money, not enough love, not enough time. But spiritual things are so more beautiful, rich and fulfilling! Thank you for your blog and blessing to your beautiful family!
