May I?
This is the chandelier in our foyer at home.
Here is a funny story:
I responded: The chandelier? Oh, I don't think that is a good idea.
Benjamin said: Oh, I think so.
I didn't let him see me laugh. He is a funny little guy.
Just because you ask, nicely, doesn't mean the answer will be "yes".

Summer is Here!
I know...Summer has been here for a few weeks. But, it finally feels like summer, outdoors at our house. The pool is fixed and we can swim!

Thankful for Friends
I am so thankful for friends; friends who live close by and friends who live away. This week, we have been blessed to spend time with people we love. My sweet friend, Kathryn, came into the area, to visit her family. But, I got to steal her away for a while. What a blessing to be able to catch up with an "old" friend. Well, Kathryn isn't old...we have just know each other a long time. Benjamin had a great time getting to know Braxton and Nash. They are such fun and well-behaved boys.
Yesterday, Benjamin, Georgia-Kate and I drove to Branson, to visit Rebecca and Carmen. We got to meet Baby Mark, for the first time. He is so sweet and he looks like his beautiful mother. Benjamin and Carmen actually played together! Rebecca and I were so excited.
Today, Megan and JP came to visit us. We love to spend time with them. Benjamin and JP really play well, together. I am so thankful for Megan. She has such a sweet spirit. After the chaos of last week....all the repairmen came over on, the same day! Megan stepped in and totally took care of my children while I worked with the men who came to fix the pool, the plumbing and the security system. It was a busy morning! Thank you, Megan.
Sometimes, friends really do feel like family.

Looking forward to a better week....
We had a crazy time at the Rogers household, last week. We woke up last Monday morning to rain coming through our bedroom ceiling. And it just continued...the pool cover quit working, again and the pool won't keep all the water. (I know I should be grateful to have a pool and I am!) Let's see what else...Wednesday Morning, we set the ADT house alarm off trying to fix the smoke alarm and scared the daylights out of Benjamin.
We did have a good day, Thursday. Annie and the boys came over and we went swimming at the Country Club. Benjamin loves Curtis and Conner. After we swam and he took his nap...he asked "Where are my friends, Conner and Curtis?". I am so thankful for our friends. (When we left the pool, my car wouldn't start....but it all worked out.)
And to finish the week, we woke up-- this morning at 5:30am, to a smoke alarm beeping. We couldn't find it and played a game of chase the "beep" around the house, for 45 minutes.
And.....I got stung by a wasp--I was trying to kill, in the house.
And.....the stock market had a terrible week.
I know, I know...it's all fixable--and it doesn't help that I am a little high strung. (or maybe a lot high strung?!) I am learning....I am a slow learner...but I know that God is in control. But, isn't like us to try to take control? And don't we fail miserably?
I am encouraged and challenged after a day in church. Bro. Scott spoke bold truth about our passion or lack of passion for God, His Word, and our ministry. I admit--my mind wonders in church, at times...but, not today. We returned to church, tonight, to hear Ricky speak. He challenged us, as parents, to teach and model truth to our children within a liberal culture. I can't do justice in my explanation of either of these church services. Our family is blessed to be part of church with pastors who speak truth and teach us the Word, when it's not popular in our world.
Here's hoping we avoid the leaky ceiling, car problems, and "beeps" at our house, this week. Mostly, I hope I will trust God to be in control.

Georgia-Kate went to see Dr. Shrum, today, for her 4 month wellness check-up. She weighs 12 1/2 pounds and is 25 inches long. She has gained 5.5 pounds and 5 inches since her birth day. She is changing, so quickly. Of course, all the nurses could do is talk about Georgia-Kate's hair. She loved laying on the table and kicking the paper...I guess she liked the noise. She giggled a lot.

I HATE to be ignored!
Okay, I admit it....I hate to be ignored. I am more than sure that Allen can testify to that fact. I know it drives him crazy that I require an answer at all times. We have had more than one argument about this topic. I just think it is respectful to answer when spoken to.
I just want to know that I am being heard. I guess it's because I hate to be ignored that I make Benjamin answer me--at all times. Just wait little Georgia-Kate....your time is coming to answer me. I completely understand why my Mom always said to us "Answer me when I am talking to you.". I'm sure I gave an answered as I rolled my eyes.
A few nights ago, as I read my bible--it hit me. It hit me- like a ton of bricks. I am hypocritical when I ignore God. And I do ignore Him, at times. It's embarrassing that I throw my biggest pet peeve upon my Father and Redeemer. I ignore by disobeying, by not spending time in the Word or by not spending real time in prayer.
I know this post is heavier than my "normal" cutesy story about Benjamin or story about our travels. I just thought I might make a change and stop ignoring God if I words to my new revelation.
