T-Ball 2009

Benjamin completed his first year of T-Ball. He had a great time. He made great progress through out the season--hitting the ball and playing the field. We were blessed with great coaches. They were patient, organized and so nice to the team. Thanks Josh and Heather! The season finished a few weeks ago. However, this week--we attended the end of the year party. It was a beautiful day...and as the party was just about to begin...a huge storm came. So, the kids didn't get to play much and didn't get to slip n' slide. But, they we were able to eat and the kids received their trophies. {they were the hit of the party!}
Here are few photos from the season:

Georgia-Kate...Benjamin's Biggest Fan. She was proud to show her support with her little "caterpillar" shirt.

Some more of Benjamin's fan club....Aunt Tracie, Hailey, Georgia-Kate and myself. Of course, Mimi and Papa, Aunt T, and Grandma and Grandpa attended games. {I should have taken more photos}

In unexpected ways....

I believe that God sends us encouragement in unexpected ways. Let me explain....late this afternoon, I went out to run. I don't usually run late in the day. We run in the early morning when life is pretty quiet and the weather is cool. AND...it was hot and the streets were busy, and I was running without my running partner, Melynda. {Melynda is on a much needed vacation} Needless to say, it was my choice to run...this time of day~because I chose to sleep in. ANYWAY, I was about a 1/2 mile into my run when anxiety and doubt began to take over.
And then a funny thing happened to me: I ran by a dog and his home. Melynda and I have passed by this dog, a dozen times. On a quiet morning, the dog may or may not notice us and we have never seen the dog's owner. Well, today was totally different. I passed by a house...and a dog began to bark. {Not helping my mental state because I have a little fear of unknown animals} And...I mean really bark.

BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK!
Then...Someone yelled something from inside the home. {I can only assume he/she was yelling at or about the dog} Then...I heard someone announce:
"Oh, it's just a runner!".
I thought: "Yes, I am...and I can do this, today!"
I almost laughed, out loud~Because I felt encouraged by a barking dog and the cranky owner. Just minutes before I ran by the dog...I had been praying and asking God to calm my fear. God is good and he may have a sense of humor. Isn't it great to be reminded that God cares about us?! Despite how big or small the situation/problem may be~it really does matter to HIM. Some people may argue that it was a coincidence and God wasn't in that moment. But, I believe that HE was...and besides, it was my moment.

The Love of Summertime.

Summer is Here! I love the summer months. {I was inspired by Kelli over at Out My Kitchen Window to make my list of summer loves....}. I don't have school age kids~But, yesterday was the last day of school--here in our district AND I was so excited. Is that totally silly?!

  • I love a suntan and the smell of suntan lotion.

  • I love sun...yes, I do. {I know....many of you are gasping at the thought of the danger.}

  • I love flip-flops. Especially, Yellow Box Flip-flops.

  • I love fresh summer fruit. {Love Watermelon}

  • I love the smell of fresh cut grass.

  • I love cooking out on the grill and sharing it with friends and family.

  • I love pool parties.

  • I love summer vacation trips. {especially to the beach}

  • I love being outdoors in the late evening and visiting with neighbors. (I love that dark doesn't come until 9pm)

What do you love about Summer?
